I had a planned power outage last night that prevented me from posting. I went in Wednesday for an early CBC (Complete Blood Count) check to verify my ANC was fine before next weeks treatment. The good news it that it was still in the normal range, so hopefully that one low count event was […]

Three Day Weekend
Today was another good day It was the third day of the memorial day weekend and other than needing to hide from the sun, it was really nice. Nace, Abby and Emeline visited again. Emeline was much happier than the last visit and she is growing like a weed. Other than that visit, I spent […]
Good news!
So Friday I got the results of my CT scan and it shows definite improvement. The progress appears to be on track for the plan we are following. My Magnesium was low on Wednesday, so when I went in to turn in the pump, they gave me a bag of electrolytes with Mg to top […]
Treatment 9 – Day 1
Today I received my 9th treatment. Last week they chose to not treat me to allow time for my platelets to recover. That worked, but my ANC (a measure of infection resistance) was down. Rather than skip another week, the doctor decided to reduce my doses of the Oxalaplatin and the 5-FU instead. This hopefully […]
Last day with the Family
Today was a really good day. The whole week with my Mom, sister and niece here was great and today my PA family got together with my CA family and we all had a good time. I was really happy to have my friend Dana and her sone Kristian here for the weekend. I don’t […]
Extra day, nice!
So with the 1 week suspension of my treatment I get some extra days where I am on the healing side of the treatment schedule instead of the attack mode. I did some basic research to see how / what can be done to boost the platelet count and generally the suggestion was to eat […]
Treatment suspended
This morning I woke up and did my mostly normal preparations for my Wednesday treatment session. With Mother, sister and niece in tow, we headed to the facility. Unfortunately, my blood work showed a low platelets count (not dangerously low, but out of spec low) so my doctor decided to delay my 9th treatment a […]
Family arrived safe
Today my Mom, sister and niece arrived from Pittsburgh for their one week visit. It has been nice seeing them all and I look forward to an enjoyable week. Tomorrow is treatment 9. So far things have stayed pretty constant. I still have the annoying rash but it has not gotten significantly worse. The worst […]
Weekend ending
Once again things are pretty normal. Yesterday the installers came and fixed the issue with the entry door and installed the bedroom patio door. Both still need the internal trim installed and the entry door needs to be painted. Hopefully that will be done on Thursday. Family coming on Tuesday, so tomorrow after work I […]
Normal day, nothing much to say.
Today was as normal as it gets. Still getting tired of not enjoying any food. I have found that in addition to tasting citrus, I can also mostly taste bacon. So yay, another item that I can incorporate into my food prep. Cheers
