After Saturday’s failed hydration experiment I have concentrated on alternatives to plain water. Sunday I used a simple electrolyte solution of water and an electrolyte powder that I have for cycling. That worked pretty well with me apparently absorbing more of the fluid even though I drank less. Monday I instead used a 50/50 dilution […]
Month: March 2018
Sunday, Pancakes and Waffles
Sunday went pretty well. I woke as normal at 7:30 and after taking care of Isabella’s demands I made a breakfast of Belgian Waffles with blueberries, bananas and syrup. The goal of the bread heavy breakfast was to counter the previous days hydration experiment. Sunday’s experiment used an electrolyte solution instead, which although I drank […]
Saturday – working on hydration
Saturday was pretty normal for the most part. Since my assumption at this point is that the clot may have been a result of inadequate hydration along with the Avastin, i focused on trying to make sure that I drank at least 3 quarts of fluid during the day. This it turns out is harder […]
Friday – Good news and Bad news
I finally got the ultrasound done on my legs today. With a PE the concern is that the clot in the lungs originated in the legs. The ultrasound of my right leg was clean and clear, but my left leg has a clot (fairly sizable) so no exercise for me for now. The Xarellto is […]
Happy Pi Day
Wednesday, one week after the start of treatment 4. The left leg is slowly improving. Work today was pretty normal for a Wed. meetings from 8AM – 3PM with a short break at lunch. I went into work rather than work from home to ensure that I would get up and walk a bit between […]
Not much to say
Again, not much to say today. My leg (left) is still acting sore. It seemed better when I woke up (a little) but as I sit here typing, it still has that ache to it. i guess it may be time to start taking the acetaminophen to dull the ache. Otherwise yesterday was busy but […]
Just another Monday
So nothing much to say for today. My leg continues to slowly almost imperceptibly improve, but is still not in a normal state. Otherwise things were pretty normal with a full work day (from home).
Sunday – some improvements
So as normal the hands and feet are getting more normal. The stiffness in my fingers has abated and my feet for the most part are fine again. The left leg is still a bit stiff, sore and weak, which when I did a little google searching is a possible side effect of chemotherapy so […]
Saturday – Stiff and Sore
I won’t sugar coat it. This treatment seems to have hit me a little harder. Mainly the soles of my feet are sore (sensitive?) and my left leg is stiff around the quadriceps. I spent a good deal of time just sleeping it off with a few naps on Friday and Saturday. Now it is […]
Friday, Good news and bad
I just received a call from the NP at the Oncologist’s office. The CT scans were available and the good news it that they show that the chemotherapy is working. The bad news it that the upper torso scan showed a small pulmonary embolism. This happened to coincide with a left leg cramp late yesterday […]
