Sunday, Pancakes and Waffles

Sunday went pretty well. I woke as normal at 7:30 and after taking care of Isabella’s demands I made a breakfast of Belgian Waffles with blueberries, bananas and syrup. The goal of the bread heavy breakfast was to counter the previous days hydration experiment. Sunday’s experiment used an electrolyte solution instead, which although I drank less than 3 quarts of it, seemed to get absorbed much better, so overall my hydration was better using less fluids, and I avoided a night of hourly wake ups to deal with the unabsorbed water.

Lunch was much more enjoyable. It was Denise Geasland’s birthday so I met up with the Geasland clan for lunch at the Broken Yolk Cafe in San Marcos. I had a short stack (2) of blueberry pancakes and a glass of cranberry juice. The pancakes were massive (the size of a normal dinner plate), so I ended only eating half of the short stack, or 2 halves.  The were very good, and looking around at the other plates, this is certainly a place that goes for large portions (even if you don’t tackle the dozen egg omelette challenge).

The rest of the day I pretty much rested. I had hoped to get some work done, but I just felt tired, mostly because of the leg since walking around on it takes more out of me than it should.
