Enter Phase 3

Today I had a meeting with the oncologist and we discussed the next phase of my treatment. An early review of the PET scan showed 3 clusters each about 1cm2 remaining on the liver, with no activity elsewhere. That opened up the possibility of Radio Frequency Ablation to cook the remaining cancer and move on to the monitor phase. A closer review showed 2 or 3 additional spots (smaller) of activity, putting RF Ablation off the table.

The plan now is to get a new port implanted next week and start a third set of chemotherapy. Since I responded so well to it the last two times, we expect this to be very effective.

Personally I have confidence that this is the correct course of action, and am very hopeful of the outcome. That said, I am also not looking forward to the effects of the poison that I get to look forward to but anything temporary can be endured.
