Today began my maintenance round of chemotherapy to kill off the cancer that remains in my liver.
Before starting this round, I and a group of friends descended upon Las Vegas last weekend to celebrate my birthday an my last drinking for the immediate future. It was a blast.
The maintenance version of my chemo consists of the 5-FU, and the Leucovorin along with some anti-nausea meds and of course fluids. I don’t know how long I will be on this yet, only that it should be every two weeks. As with the last time, I will avoid any alcohol during the period of time. If all goes as planned, I will be able to continue training for the 100 mile San Diego Century in 2018.
Cheers
Glad you had a good time in Vegas. 5 fu, sounds like an appropriate name to be directed towards your cancer.
I hope the treatment is not as hard for you as the first round.
