T-1 Day

So this is it.  Surgery is going to happen on Friday at 7:15AM.

I had the pre-op tests done today.  The surgery will take place at Scripp’s Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, 9888 Genesee Ave.  The surgery is expected to take around 5 hours with another 2 hours in the recovery area and about a week in hospital before I  relocate to home. It is an Open Partial Gastrectomy according to the paperwork.  My surgeons are Dr. Matthew Shultzel and Dr. Sunil Bhoyrul.  I have full confidence in these men and am planning my recovery and look forward to next May when I will ride the San Diego Century.

My mom and sister arrived safely tonight (Wed.) and have settled into their guest rooms here at Casa de Rich.

I will do my best to post on Saturday from the Hospital when everything is done.  I don’t expect that I will feel like it Friday, but if I do, then great and I will update then.

I thank you all for the well wishing, prayers, ritual sacrifices or other methods of positive influence.

Cheers
