I think it is too soon to credit the antibiotic with anything (I have only taken 2 pills so far) but I think the $10 petroleum ointment may be helping quite a bit. I have mainly used it on my face, and a pea sized dab goes a long way with this one. It is thicker than Vasoline, so maybe it has some value beyond what a $2 tub of that would have done. At least if I keep my nose and most of my face lubricated, it does not itch or hurt and the white lesions seem less. I do expect the rash to fade during the 2 weeks between treatments, but for now I am able to deal with it.  My main concern is that the rash is across my upper chest including the location of the mediport. I am hoping that this will not interfere with the ability to use the port or apply a bandage over the area.

Otherwise today was a pretty good day. I slept in (until 10AM) then leisured my way through the day watching TV and napping. I would like to get my energy back to a point where I feel comfortable exercising. I may try to put in some time on the bike this weekend to see how that feels.
