Mellow Monday

Today was pretty chill. I woke around 8AM (slept in a little) and since I had no meetings on the calendar, I worked from home all day. breakfast was oatmeal, and lunch was grilled cheese on sourdough with tomato soup. Dinner topped it off with a meat loaf sandwich on the same sourdough. I would like to cut the bread out of the diet but for now it helps keep the effluent from my stoma thick and not liquid, which does a lot for my overall well being.

My leg felt pretty good all day. I wore the compression sock for about 8 hours and took a  brief walk around the neighborhood at 5PM to get at least some minimal exercise.

It looks like the window replacement has been approved. I was told that there was a stipulation, and when the contractor stopped by today to have me sign some paperwork he mentioned that their guys had accidentally listed white as the color on several of the architectural change forms (there were apparently 66 of them outstanding for the property as a whole) so  the assumption is that the stipulation is that I go with the almond color which is what I had planned for all along. He said that he would go ahead and put in the order with the manufacturer and my hope is to have them all installed before my mother arrives in mid-May.

I feel like I should also report on this MacBook Pro that I have been using for about  a month and a half now. I love almost everything about it, but the keyboard is still a bitter disappointment. For a professional level laptop, the folks at Apple really do not understand how terrible the design choice to favor a few millimeters of thinner for a crappy keyboard that has loud keys and insufficient key travel to not hurt ones fingers. This keyboard is truly terrible. I do not regret not buying a different Windows based machine, but I really hate this keyboard. Maybe if I didn’t spend most of my time typing on the glorious Das Keyboard with the excellent mechanical keys it would not bother me so much, but I do and it does.

Cheers for now.
