Saturday – Tiny people all around.

Today (Saturday) was a pretty good day. I managed about 16 minutes on the bike before I stopped due to high heart rate (it wasn’t too high for normal workouts, but I am trying to avoid turbulent blood flow so when it hit 140 I stopped). I hope to get to 30 minutes tomorrow or at least closer to it.

The neighborhood had a bit of an Easter Egg hunt and potluck. It was nice to get out for a bit an socialize with my neighbors, and the horde of children that were all about. The neighborhood is dominated by little girls in the children department so they all seemed to get along pretty well.

Other than the social, the day was pretty normal for a Saturday. Since it is the Saturday after a treatment, I am still dealing with the cold sensitivity and the sausage fingers, but otherwise things seem pretty good. Hydration plan is still in effect and seems to be working. My biggest noticed side effect is a complete (or near complete) change in my taste buds. Everything tastes pretty much Meh. I had a bowl of chili at the potluck and everyone was raving about it, but to me it tasted odd and a bit muted. I hope that after the chemotherapy is all done, my taste buds return to normal. As it is, it is definitely something that impacts my eating since once I feel full, I just stop eating since there is no joy in the food. I had a piece of pizza today and it really did not taste good at all. It wasn’t bad, just not good. Tomorrow I will make some chicken thighs and hopefully get enough flavor into them to be enjoyable
