I am sitting in the chair getting my first chemo drug today. I just met with my doctor and after reviewing my urine test and given the blood clot, we are going to discontinue the Avastin as part of the treatment.  The CT scan did show good progress on the liver and some improvement on the primary colon tumor, so hopefully this change won’t put that progress at too much risk.  The risks of the Avastin and its increased risk for blood clots makes it the right choice for now and if the blood marker starts to show that we are not continuing to improve we will consider a replacement option for that part of the cocktail.

I am still focused on dealing with my hydration so keeping to the electrolyte solutions or diluted juice to provide the same effect seems to be the right path. I was cleared for light exercise again, so hopefully I will get on the bike Saturday to celebrate.
