So today I drove out to Rancho Bernardo to get my CT scans taken. The traffic was horrible, which surprised me since it was already after 9 and the bulk of the morning rush should have been long over. I had given myself 40 minutes to get there and it took 45. Not too bad, but a little stressful.
These scans were essential of the whole torso, so they started me out with the contrast beverage which you drink over about 40 minutes, then once in the machine, they administer the IV contrast during the deep scan. Other than learning that my pants have metal eye loops at the drawstrings (which meant pulling down my pants for the scan), the process was uneventful.
After the scans I met up with my friends and California Family Nick and Denise for lunch and to catch up. It is always nice to catch up with them and today was no exception. Once lunch was done though I had to drive back home and resume my work day.
Tomorrow should have some news. During my treatment I will meet with the Oncologist to go over the results of the CT scans and see if we can observe any progress. Since this is just the first scan, I am trying to keep my hopes in check, but I really would like to see some progress, particularly with the cells that started to colonize my liver.
